Unlike traditional stationary garbage shredding systems, the SWG 1600 is completely on-site mobile. Track mounted, and self-propelled, the SWG 1600 can be driven on the working face of the landfill. Ground garbage is deposited directly into the landfill cell, where it can be spread by compactors. The heart of the machine is a high speed Hammermill weighing in excess of 15,000 lbs. Up to fifty-two fixed hammers grind the garbage into a consistent product, which ranges from approximately 10" minus to 4" minus. The size of the end product is controlled by our patent-pending screening rod setup and is easily changed by hydraulically adding or removing the rods. This screening device also provides a quick clean-out system to remove contaminants from the mill area. Hammermill power is supplied by a single diesel engine producing 1,650 horsepower. The SWG 1600 is engineered to be extremely tolerant to the high levels of contamination found in household waste.
